A Marietta Automotive Tradition Built on Trust

For generations, drivers in Marietta and the surrounding communities have trusted this business with their vehicles. While the name has changed over the years, the commitment to honest service, quality workmanship, and taking care of customers has remained the same. Jett AutoCare is the continuation of a Marietta automotive tradition that traces its roots back to the 1960s.

The story began with Billy Jack Little, who entered the service station business in the 1960s. Billy Jack became a successful service station owner and operator, building a reputation for hard work, quality service, and treating customers right. Those same principles would eventually be passed down to Gary Jett, who began working for Billy Jack as a teenager.

Gary learned the automotive business from the ground up under Billy Jack's mentorship. Over the years, he took on increasing responsibility and eventually became the manager of the business in 1981. In 1985, Gary and Billy Jack formed a partnership, beginning a new chapter in the business's long history.

From Little's Texaco to Jett Service Station

In 1989, Gary Jett became the sole owner of the service station, then known as Little's Texaco, located at the corner of Roswell Street and Fairground Street in Marietta, Georgia. Although the name and branding would change over the years, the foundation established by Billy Jack remained at the heart of the business: providing customers with dependable automotive service and treating them with honesty and respect.

As the oil and service station industry changed, so did the business. Following the merger of Texaco and Shell and the eventual acquisition of Texaco by Shell, the service station transitioned from the Texaco name to the Shell brand. During this period, Gary changed the business name from Little's Texaco to Jett Service Station, establishing the Jett name that would eventually become synonymous with automotive repair in Marietta.

Becoming Jett AutoCare

By 2010, the business had grown significantly, and Gary recognized the need for a larger facility to better serve both the growing customer base and the changing needs of the Marietta community. He purchased a large automotive garage located across the street from the original service station.

With the move came another important evolution. The business became Jett AutoCare, a name that better represented its focus on complete automotive care rather than simply operating as a traditional service station.

The change was more than a new name. It reflected the same philosophy that had guided the business since Billy Jack Little's early days: take care of the customer, take care of their vehicle, and do the job right.

A New Generation Continues the Tradition

In 2020, the Shell service station was sold, and Gary Jett formed a partnership with longtime business managers Paul Pringle and Shane Terrell. Both brought extensive automotive repair experience and shared Gary's commitment to quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.

In March 2022, Gary retired and sold Jett AutoCare to Paul Pringle and Shane Terrell, marking another chapter in the business's history while preserving the traditions that had been established decades earlier.

As Jett AutoCare continues to grow, Paul’s wife, Catherine, joined the team to manage the front office and help take care of the customers who have become such an important part of the Jett AutoCare family. Today, Paul, Shane and Catherine work together to continue the personal, honest service the shop has been known for for generations.

Today, Paul, Shane, and the entire Jett AutoCare team continue the legacy that began with Billy Jack Little, carried forward by Gary Jett, and evolved through Little's Texaco, Jett Service Station, and ultimately Jett AutoCare.
